Okay, this forum seems to have some great information on stock Disco Systems. My stock radio/cd is cutting in and out /poping / static after about about 5 minutes of driving. I've tried checking all the grounds and have reseated the headunit cable and amp cable under the seat. I have the mid-line alpine system with the amp under the drivers seat. I did notice when it was acting up pretty bad the backlight on the radio was dimmimg. Problem is I can't isolate the problem! I really want to keep everything stock, at least the speakers. Are the alpine head units know for going bad, how about the amps? I'm having a hard time beliving it's the wiring because everything worked fine for 7 years! Any help appreciated!!!

 

always check the cheap stuff first. try the grounds then go from there. I have a DI that had an amp. issue, but as far as i know the DII are good to go.
