Default '03 Disco Oil Change

Mike/Everyone,

I'm getting ready to change my oil for the first time since I bought my '03 Disco in December. Does the following stand true for my year?

20/50W & K&N 3001

And, what's engine flush?

thanks,

-Ugly

I'd check your owners manual for the correct oil. 20w50 sounds way to viscous. Don't forget to add you a bottle of Lucas oil stabilizer. How many miles on this one?

Ugly,
What state do you live in, how cold does it get?
The 3001 is a great way to go, Lucas added to the engine oil during the hotter months is a pretty good idea, but I would only add 1/2 bottle other wise your oil will be way to heavy.
As for an engine flush, not a bad idea, especially if you just bought it. How many miles on the engine?

Use any of the 10/40W oils during the winter and you could go to a 20/50 in the middle of your hot summers.
Engine flushing is just that, it is running certain chemicals thru the engine to clear up alot of old sludge and laquer allowing your engine to run quieter and cooler.
