I am shopping for an '03 or '04 Disco and have found an '03 I like but I am alarmed by oil pump/engine issues that plague certain VINs -- my VIN among them. The Disco has 92K on it and a perfect service record; should I be concerned or is mine likely ok? Thanks in advance for any advice.

 

Don't be alarmed, yes they had a issues and at 90,000 miles that one you are looking at is pretty much out of the mileage frame when the engine/oil pump would fail if were going to.
Bigger question for you is what will you be using the truck for. The 03 does not have a locking t/case the 04 does hence a lot more traction by about 50%.
