03 discopossible front drive shaft issue?
hello all! new member here.
ok so here is my dilema, earlier today i felt a bad vibration coming from the front end of my 03 disco we got 5 inches of snow here in chicago today so i thought nothing of it,after about 40 minutes of driving on the e-way the truck just kinda took a nose dive and made a loud squelling noise.I immediatley pulled over and checked out what i could.I didnt see anything hanging or leaking so i got back in and limped her home about 10 miles doing no more than 15 miles pr hr all the way home. she squelled and if i went faster it got louder so i manged to get her into the garage and checked her out,the front drive shaft it seems a bit wobbley from the rear of the shaft that goes into the gear box.any body have any clue if i did any more damage or would a new drive shaft take care of the problem? any info or advice is greatly appreciated thanks!

Do NOT drive the truck any further!
A failure in the front drive shaft could possibly pop a hole in your transmission case. It will become a more expensive fix when you have to replace the entire transmission.
Do a search.... there are lots of posts on front drive shaft replacements. Lucky8-Proshaft, Tom Woods, GBR, etc.

Check the output flange on the transfer case for movement (being able to see movement up/down or left/right) if it seems tight you are probably ok.
Remove the old shaft and replace. 30 min job You'll need a 9/16 and 14mm box end wrenches and a bit of patience.
Here is the link to a new shaft from Lucky8
