Default 03 Discovery with rubbing sound over 30 while coasting! Baffled!!!

I have a 03 with 85000 miles that I have noticed rubbing/grinding sound while coasting over 30 mph. I would not really call it a grinding sound as it is really light but there seams to be a sound whenever I am slowing down or coasting over 30. As soon as I hit 30 or less the sound goes away. Any ideas would be great. Just to let everyone know I have replaced the drive shaft with a Tom Woods about 2 years ago and just greased everything on it. Thanks!!!

Greased after every oil change! But I also just changed the oil and greased it about a week ago. I stated this because I didn't want to get the obvious "Grease the Drive Shaft!".

May want to check your brake pads to see if they are metal to metal, maybe because a caliper being stuck.

sounds like a wheel bearing problem to me if it was brakes it would do it at any speed wheel bearings usally dont make noise until 20-30mph when they go bad.try turning the wheel back and forth safely with noone around on road while the truck is making the noise and see if it makes a difference if it does you have a bad wheel bearing

Default check transfer case

I am no expert but i have then same sound at the same speed and its my transfercase. I drained it today and was dirty and had one small piece of metal about 1 cm long and about 2 mills wide...look like a edge of something like a bearring or such. If you tap the gas and the sound goes away it is what mine is doing. i changed my transfer case oil today to a heavy 85 x 140 and it still make the sound. I am having my transfer case changed this week. I hope this is not your problem.

Take a look at the inner liners for the front wheel archs... on the D2, there are two screws that hope that thin piece of curved plastic in place... mine fell out and I got wierd noises above about 35 MPH because the wind pushed the plastic back and it rubbed on the tire.... .. take a look at the inner fender wells on the front wheels, specifically the front side... if there is a "tire wear hole", that's probalby it... if you don't even have this on a D1, ignore this comment.
