Default 03 Discovery rust on window

I have a 03 Discovery SE7 with a couple of rust spots on the rear driver side window frame. The paint is puffed up from underneath the paint surface. According to the LRdealer, the rust warranty only covers the painted body and nothing else. The window frame seem to me is paintedwith black paint but I was told that it is actually a plastic coating and therefore not covered under the warranty. It seems to me the LR Dealer is just trying to get out of a warranty service. Has anyone come across similar issues? Thanks

The same thing happened to mine in the same location, specifically on the little post between the fixed glass and roll-up glass in the left rear door. The rust covered about 2 1/2 inches from the bottom of the post up. It must be a more common thing than I was thinking since it happened to you too. Mine was out of warranty anyway so I didn't go there. It was an easy fix though. I just scraped off the loose paint, sanded it smooth, and brushed on some flat black touch-up paint.

You need to read your warranty manual regarding rust, having it checked and what is covered.

One of my rust spots was at the same exact location as yours (between the fixed glass and roll-up glass in the left rear door) but it's only about half an inch big. Thanks for reply.
