I own a 2003 LR Discovery Series II that has what to appears to be a common problem - my front wipers are not working, or only work intermittently. Other than the "mist" option, my wipers have not worked properly since I have owned it when I purchased the car with 15K miles. When I turn the wipers on it either takes a couple of minutes to work, or they don't work at all. They never "park" correctly either. The problem has become more noticeable and now and when it is cold. I have also experienced a similar problem with the turn signals where they delay to go on when it is cold out. I have read many posts from other owners with similar problems, however, no one ever seems to post what the solution to the problem was. If you have experienced this problem and have corrected it I would appreciate some advice. Thanks!

 

Since they are not parking properly, I would say it is the wiper motor since that is where the park switch is located.

 

I have a '02 disco with a similar problem- my theory is that the signal is prone to short because when I either fiddle with the turning head on the wand or the wand itself, the wipers will start to work properly. I am no expert though. It's just one of the many of quirks and oddities of the disco
