Default '03 vs '04

Is the '04 discovery considerably better than the '03 when it comes to the engine problems? By that I mean the catastophic stuff like the oil pump blowing up and the "slipped sleeve syndrome". The normal stuff I can deal with. Is the sleeve thing only related to the '03's too or any of them? And if I go with a '03 outside of the VIN range, Am I ok? I dont want reassurance that everthing will be alright, Just a little hope. Thanks.

i would say go with an 04 just because it has CDL. i wish my 03 had it. but ill get the kit eventually. i have an 03 in the VIN range, it has 90k on it and still runs like a charm

Default Defender 1990

I just saw a Land Rover Defender Station Wagon 110, of the 1990. the condition of the vehicle is very good, it has been rebuild from scratch. The price for the vehicle is Euro11,000, do you think it is worth it to buy. Since 2009 the taxes for such high powered cars has increased drastically, but the chicle mentioned has been registered before 2009.

Thanks

Dude, your post has nothing to do with the OP and it's not even in the right forum, never mind continent.

The slipped liner was also on the '04, but it is usually the result of gross overheating. Some of the '03 had oil pump problems, but so did some of the '04. My '03 is in the vin range with 101k miles and has no oil pump problems. I would be so bold as to say most any '03 with normal miles for their age would already be dead if they had the pump problem. On the plus side for the '04 is the CDL, but you can add it to the '03 if you like.
