About a month ago the wife's 03 D2 wouldn't start. It cranked and sounded like it wanted to fire but did not. We took it to the shop. They changed the oil, cleaned the plugs and the truck started!...mechanic said plugs were covered with residue and there was fuel in the oil! Well 2 weeks later same story. Car won't start.
Take it to another shop. Same story...plugs covered with residue, they said the sensor was filthy. Cleaned everything up and the truck was running again. Felt fine until we got it up to 65mph and then felt like a little hesitation. This morning same story. It started but died. Same symptoms.
What is the issue with this beast?!?

Perhaps your PCV system is plugged up and allowing too much oil mist to be drawn into the throttle body and intake. Which sensor is filthy? See attached, if item 10 is obstructed, unfiltered oil mist will be drawn into the throttle body. The Idle Air Control Valve is near this. The Mass Air FLow is "upstream" from this.
No cranking can also be low fuel pressure or bad crank position sensor. Murphy's Law for Rovers is a multi-volume set.
From the law firm of Dewey, Cheatham, & Howe:
Anything that can happen, will.
A wrench dropped will always land on the most fragile connector, protecting said wrench. Exception is when wrench bridges between battery positive and refrigerant pipe, this is announced by a short buzz followed by the hiss of refrigerant escaping.
Lifetime lubricated bearing are rated for the life of the original designer who was carried by six just a few months ago.
Tail and brake lights burn out just as law enforcement takes up a position behind you. And their shift commander just gave them a lecture about needing more tickets and less time in the donut shop.
Your insurance payment envelope is found between the seats as part of accident reconstruction.
