Default 04 Disco 2 transmission control module

I believe the transmission control module in my D2 is either bad or was replaced with another and not programmed to clear the old VIN and replace with my D2's VIN.
My D2 constantly shows a P0748 fault and places the trans in limp mode. I can clear this code with my ultra gauge and she works fine afterwards.
Can someone advise if the transmission control module can be reprogrammed and which scan tool/programmer can be used to verify the vin and update to my vehicles vin to eliminate the constant limp mode issue?

I don't think that the trans ecu is one that cares about which vehicle it's in. They are VERY picky about voltage though. If your alternator or battery are weak they will go into limp mode.
I would test battery voltage with engine off, idling and higher rpm. Next i would disconnect and reconnect the plug at the Trans ecu. If still an issue I would check the voltage that's getting to the ecu.
I'm not the expert, but these would be my first troubleshooting steps.
