Default 04 Disco do you have to remove the grill to change the headlight bulb?

Reading conflicting info probably due to the difference between an 04 and prior years. My driver side low beam is out. Need to replace

Rave shows grill needs to be removed but wondering if anyone knows a trick. The po installed fog lights that are preventing eqse removal of the grill

To remove the headlight assembly properly yes you do on an 03-04 vs a 99-02, but it's super simple.

1. Pop open the hood & prop it open
2. Remove the 3 Phillips head plastic screws from the 3 plastic clips that secure the grill
3. Remove the entire plastic clip assembly and sit them to the side.
4. Lean the grill forward & up and it will come out, sit it to the side.
5. Open the flap by the horn and remove the 10mm bolt or Phillips head screw (lower headlight support screw)
6. Remove the two upper Phillips Head Screws on the Upper Plastic Plate.
7. Gently Pull out on the headlight and the two little clips will pop free of the fender.
8. Unplug the main headlight harness, and then you can take the entire assembly off and work on it inside your shop.
9. Twist open the round access panel & you'll be looking at your low beam, high beam, turn signal, or parking bulb (depending on which one you remove).

Assembly is the opposite of removal.

Yeah its very easy. You could do it in the dark on the side of the road in 5 mins or less.

There is a video on You Tube made by some Russian guys where they remove the headlights super easy. Mechanic lifestyle Russia or something like that. They have some videos with a DII showing radiator replacement made simple and some other things.

LR made it super easy & it's even in your LR owners manual on page 216.

huh? i recently replaced a headlamp bulb on my '03. i had no idea that removing the grille was required, so i didn't even try to do that.
there are two torx bolts holding the headlamp assembly in place from the top. after removing those, the entire unit can be removed and any of the bulbs can be easily replaced.

Well from the factory there is a 3rd screw on the inside lower corner of the 03-04 Headlight assembly. It's behind the little flap/door just below the horn on each side. If the lower screw/bolt is missing then yes removing the two upper Phillips head screws = the headlight assembly would come out. It's supposed to have a 3rd screw though and that requires the grill to come out which is just held in place via 3 plastic screw/pop rivets.

On 94-02 D1/D2's you can either reach em from above, behind, or twist the mounts out to remove the entire headlight assembly. It could also just fall out if the white clips that hold em into place are busted lol.
