Default headlight bulb - major headache!!!

my passenger side headlight bulb is out in my 2004 Disco II - simple fix.... right? WRONG!
Following the proceedure to get the new bulb in I:
  1. removed the grill with no problem
  2. removed the screw "hidden" by the cover on the side/bottom of the headlight assembly
  3. found that the final screw necessary to remove was siezed up and wouldn't turn - finally broke free but now turns, and turns, and turns and never comes out.
Without getting this last screw out I can't finish this simple fix. I am completely at a loss on what to do next. I can't drill it out b/c the screw would turn as quickly as the bit. I suppose I could grind the head off and see what issues that leaves me with...

Does anyone have any ideas???

no - it is topside of the headlight assembly. The screw I am referring to is marked with a " <-B " that is a B with an arrow next to it. It is a phillips head screw. Any ideas?

Just happened to me yesterday.

The screw goes into a brass sleeve which is supposed to be pressed/seated in the plastic of the headlight.

Since it's already loose, you can:

1) put a pry tool under the plastic cover while you turn and the screw and sleeve might come up.

2) get a pair of channel locks and get a good hold on the head of the screw and pull up.

3) remove the torx head screws on the adjuster plate and pull up on the plate while using a pry tool directly under the head of the screw.
