Default 04 Disco Head gasket

It finally happened. Have brown milky oil after overheating. Assuming head gasket or worse. 74k miles. I'm trying to avoid a dealership because from reading these threads, they will want an arm and a leg. Anyone know any reasonable repair shop for rovers in Columbus Ohio?

You do NOT need a Rover shop, a Rover specialty shop is going to cost just as much as the dealer.
Just find a good indie shop, its not rocket science, just head gaskets.

Yeah if you have another means of transportation while you work on it - go for it. Don't be afraid.

Do it your self for around $300 in parts, find an ind. shop for around $1600 to $1800 OR THE DEALER FOR $3400.

I moved from Columbus just last year, but when there, I had most of my work done at Evans Automotive over by Easton. They do really good work, and while certainly not as expensive as the dealership, you're still going to pay some good money. The important thing is that they have the T2 setup so they can handle all your computer reprogramming when necessary. James is the LR Service Manager there and a squared away, no bs, kinda guy. He'll get you taken care of. It's also cool going there to see all of the exotics that they work on. THere's always a Lamborghini or two there, some Ferraris, Porsches...

For a completely Indie operation, and the best $$deal, I highly recommend Chris. He knows just about all there is about Rovers and is one of the main go-to guys for Central Ohio's LR Club, The Green Oval Guild.

Greenovalguild.com - Central Ohio Land Rover Club

He posts as Mud Ruts on the site there. Back in Jan of last year he was just getting moved into a personal shop in Blacklick. A stand up dude who is pretty well tied into the Rover Scene. PM me for his contact info.
