I was looking at Maya Gold 04 in Houston a month or two ago. Grabbed the VIN # and it had an interesting life bouncing from auction to auction in TX. That wasn’t that big of a deal, but the thing was a looks great D2, but nothing electrically worked properly, then I saw a line all the way around it = Harvey flood victim.... explained the electronic issues. I told em & they swore it wasn’t, so I left ASAP. It sold like 2 days later to some poor sap & I can only imagine it popping up on CL or another auction soon....
I don't see what the big deal is.
They get them cheap, fix some things and sell them.
Everything we buy in life is done this way. Its capitalism.
I'm upset at the guy that I posted has a nonrefundable $500 fee.
Then you get to be twice as upset with this Dip$hit $eller because he charges a $1000 nonrefundable deposit.
The only thing that will save what looks to be the future noob ebay buyer, is the fact that technically the listing is misrepresenting the vehicle because the VIN/description is wrong.
And shocker, ebay has been notified over 5 times (w different ID's) since Tuesday and nothing has changed in the listing.
It's also worth noting they are on OfferUp as well, 1 review 1 star (and it wasn't me).

I know this sorta turned into a witch hunt, but basically what grinds my gears about this is that its less "capitalism" and more "shady scummy". I just feel bad for the unknowledgeable people. I just want them to understand exactly what they are spending their money on. At the end of the day people will pay for what it's worth.

Ahhh, yep, scumbag. I realize having a small fee for hosting the auction whatever....but $500 or $1000 is a rip off.
It makes me wonder about people who buy cars (like the DII ebay fools) and don't even do a basic google search of the VIN.
And I'm not even asking for them to spend a few dollars to do a Carfax.
In 3 minutes, and a few clicks WOW you can learn a ton.
And.....Rant Over....The End.
