04DII vs. 2013 Rubicon
#31
The Terrafirma set up is nice, doesn't have a guard for the lights and grille but does have a washer bottle guard and an AWESOME approach angle. I may still trade with a person locally that has the terrafirma setup.

Cant say Ive ever driven a Rubicon before but as a former vale and a lube technician at Jiffylube Ive driven MANY vehicles old and new. The other day I drove a new Sahara into the shop. Had a manual transmission and all the pedals were to far beneath the dash that I could not reach them, even with the seat pulled all the way up near the steering wheel I had a hard time stepping on the pedals. I also observed that with a small front windshield and a HUGE flat hood, I had very limited visibility. The controls and interior design is also difficult to get used to, buttons and controls are not where they should be. Yes I am very short for my age (5 feet 1 inches) but the point here is that the ride is very uncomfortable and the visibility is poor. In my D2 I can keep the seat back further from the steering wheel and still reach the pedals with ease AND I have excellent visibility out the front windshield. I'm not expert on off-road vehicles but if I were going to take a vehicle off road then it better be comfortable, have a large windshield and excellent visibility because I need to be able to study all the terrain around the truck, especially the front end. I'll keep my 04 D2 any day!

Well, turns out he is getting a Sahara. Getting it tomorrow or Tuesday. It will have a limited slip rear diff, but that's it for off road goodies. I think we will be an even match. Anxious to see what it can do. It will have Dueler A/T tires, so I could be better for now. Anyway, looking forward to taking them out this weekend.
