Default 1/4" wheel spacers

I've got 285/75/16 mud tires on my D2 with stock wheels. I have used the thin 1/4" spacers on a few trucks in the past with no issues. I wanted to buy a pair for the front just to resolve my rubbing at full turn.
does it really matter if the spacers are hubcentric or not?

So my question is: Do I have to have hubcentric 1/4" spacers? What would happen if I just mounted a pair of 5x120 disco spacers that were not hubcentric?

FYI- I'm not looking for a debate on wheel spacers and I do understand that the lug bolts will be shortened by 1/4" when I fit these. Thanks for any help. hopefully some people will chime in that have done this or are doing it, Cheers.

Yes regular spacers will be fine. I ran some few years back to get my turn rad back. They did just that. I am on hubcentf now. I can not tell a difference. I'm still just getting my turn radius back.

So, how much of a lift are you running with the 285's?
If over 2"s, you should first consider adding an adjustable pan hard rod so you can recenter your differential back to center which will get you back to making equal turns both left and right.

Thanks Dusty1, I'll work on that. And D Mike, it's a 2" coil lift with 1" body lift. Steering is fine aside from the slight rub. Thanks for the impute.
