Default 1 amigo, just won't go away

I foxed my 3 amigos last summer, and now one has come back. The HDC light is on and the code tells me it's brake lamp circuit issues.

I checked the wiring for my brake system and found a wire that goes through the rear tailgate loom that was nicked, so I fixed that wire and the loom. I checked the fuse and obviously it's fine since the lights work.

I've read that the relay could be bad, but wouldn't that cause my lights to not turn on when I hit the pedal? I've also read that the HDC keeps an eye on fluid temps, where is that sensor located?

I have extended brake lines I have to install, just waiting for the penetrating oil to work its way through the threads. Then I'll do a full fluid flush.

Anything else I need to look at? I'd like this light gone so I have a clean dash again.
