Default 1173 Code Check engine Light. Please Help

Hello All,

I have the 1173 code triggering the CEL light about twice a week now. Does anyone have experience fixing this? Is it a bad passenger side O2? Just curious as I would like to fix this. All four 02's were replaced by me at 73,000 miles, now at 100,000. I thought they should be good for at least 60k-100k
Any help would be appreciated.

Check your rear O2 sensors on your scanner. Look for any activity. you also might have an exhaust leak.

Touche. Hey rovin, what's the procedure for replacing and inject.or. Helping this guy, figured the injector was leaking. The thread is labelled 5 codes.........can you chip in your experience with replacing an injector in that thread. Thank you in advance. To boss, sorry for the partial thread hijack.

Not worries,
When I change my oil tomorrow. I will crawl under there and listen for a exhaust leak.
My scanguageII does not show me any signals on the O2's What type of scanner should I get or rent to help diagnose this. Maybe have a local shop read it for me. Are we talking about a pre cat or post cat O2 on the passengers side?

ah, running a scanguage. yea, your gonna need a proper scan tool with real time readings. You need to check your post cat. sensors. The internet is a great place and not only for ****.

take the oil filter or the equivalent sized can and after the maf sensor put the can inside the air hose and tighten down the clamp and start the engine. if their is an air leak the vehicle will shut off immediately and you will hear a whine as it sucks the air thru the vacuum leak.

dgi07,
Looks like all I need is a multimeter from your article: I have that. I will start with passenger rear and see my values.

Cool. Also, do like rovin says first. Might as well eliminate all the easier possibilities first.

Rovin4Life,
Let me get this straight? I block the air intake with some type of can. Have an assistance crank the engine. It probably will not start because no air can enter the cycliners. Then listen for a hiss....And if I hear it, that is my vacum leak. Maybe from the lower valley gasket or where ever I hear it.
