So pulling the front drive and CV shafts raised your mileage that much?

How many miles on the truck since you modded it?

What mileage were you getting before?

You are driving too fast.
70-80 - you deserve 12 mpg.

Drive 60 MPH max.
You will get 16 MPG.

I hear ya' Jfall, that's about what I get around town. But around here, if you drive 60 you'll get rammed, or shot. plus we had a 4 m/o on her first road trip and were trying to make as much distance b/t stops as possible.

I did the removal soon after buying it, 08/2012 as my linked thread shows, had about 114K miles and was getting about 14 to 16 mpg; now is about 127K miles. I do not play in snow nor mud nor rocks so works for me with zero problems so far.

The window sub-frame mounts to the door in a way that there is adjustment to bring the top either in or out. the hole in the door frame is actually a slot. Loosen the window frame mounting bolts, pull top in toward cabin, tighten bolt. then, tighten lower bolt. This worked for me.

Do you have any pictures for this? I tried bending mine a couple of months ago but it is getting worse.
