Default 16" rims vs. 18"

Other than the price of tires, any thoughts on one vs. another?

Smoother ride with the 16" because of more sidewall to absorb bumps.
If you offroad you will have a stronger sidewall and can air down for better traction.

There will be far more selection in the 16" wheel range as well. I like the rule of the rim being half the height of the tire. So a 16" rim would be ideal with a 32" tire.

Mine will soon be 18"rims on a 32" tire, but I like the look of the 18's better and I am not a big rock crawler so the air down issue is not as big of a deal for me.

I've got duratracs on 18s and look great hook up great but I'm more crawling and rocks so I'm looking to get rid of them and go 16s with 33 to 35s haven't decided yet.

So if you want 18s I got some....

They hook up amazing but with the direction and nasty rocks on the trails in the desert I need more sidewall and size..if your not beating your truck up on nasty stuff then 18s look better...imo

i went from 18 to 16 for the winter, the 16 ride much better because of the taller side wall. I really hate the idea or going back to the 18, because the ride is going to suck, but i cant run snows all year.

One thing not mentioned regarding the 18's is that when aired down you can cut the side walls out with a sharp rock and have a lot less chance of doing it with a 16".
