Default 17.5 mpg for two tanks

I wanted to see just how well I could do the mileage for my 2004Disco II. I didn't do anything special regarding take offs or stopping but I only drive a maximum of the posted speed limit for two full tanks of gas. I had a mix of city (12 miles to work and back each day with about 6 stop lights) and highway (not expressway, so a max of 55mph). On one tank of gas I averaged 17.4 mpg and on the other I hit 17.6! Makes me realize how beneficial the old 55 mph speed limit was for my bank account! Driving as I normally do, I am getting just under 14 mpg, a 25+% increase. Nothing big, just wanted to brag a bit!

I'm getting the same in my disco. But i havent slowed down much. I'm pretty pleased. Considering I have a V6 truck that gets 14mpg.
The more I think about mpg... The more I like the new Range Rover Evoque supposed 28mpg! Im considering becoming an all Land Rover family with that mpg
