Default 18" to 16" Help

I need to replace my tires. I have the Michelin XPC 18" tires with 60k on them. I have no lift, but am thinking about a 2". If I replace the tires and keep the 18" rims, the General Grabber's are $163 a piece for stock 255/55/18. If I change to 16" steel rims, General's in size 265/70/16 are $100. So my question is this...will just about any steel rim work as long as it has the right bolt pattern and offset? Also, is 2 piece OK or should I stick with 1 piece? If I go with 16" or 15" wheels, what is the correct backspace? I know the bolt pattern is 5x4.75, but I don't know the backspace. I saw these at SummitRacing, will they work?

Thanks!

No not any steel will work, no two piece wheels.
What are you going to be using this for? Best install you lift first so you can then decide what tire size to work with.
18" are always more expensive and perform worse off road.

I was going to go the steel wheel route but I found a set of OE 16' Disco wheels for $200 on ebay. I saw another set I think on discoweb.org for about the same price.

OME 2inch lift with General Grabber AT/2 in size 265/70-16 on original 16x8Land Rover wheels.
