Default 180 degree thermostat in cold climates

While I have my cooling system all appart, I might as well change the thermostat. I live in Wisconsin where the temperatures in the winter regularily reach -20F, and can go as low as -50F. The Average is probably 10-20F. Winter is the longest season.

The truck mostly gets driven in the winter, with short jaunts in the summer a couple times a week.

In the Summer, 90F isnt unheard of, but 100F is fairly rare.

So, taking these temperatures into consideration, is the "warm climate" 180 degree thermostat still the recommendation?

Don't worry about it.
put in the 180 degree. It just opens sooner at 180 degrees. That's all.

It will close when cold and plenty of heat.
Not worth stressing your engine - put in the 180 degree from Land Rover.

"from Land Rover" mean "no motobad" thermostats which are famous on this forum for opening well above their rated temperature.
