1994 Discovery FAULT CODE 19 Help Erratic Idle and stalling
Sorry to double post but I think my topic got buried :-)
I looked under the passenger seat and it reads Code 19
Which refers to the TPS Sensor and Mass Airflow Meter
My truck is idling erratically and stalling.
I cleaned the IAC Stepper motor and the PCV... I also have a new air filter in and new cap and rotor button. All LR Parts.
I am at a loss
The code refers to "Continuity Test 17,18,19 and I have the RAVE CD but I cannot find any reference of these tests in the book. Any ideas of how to hook up the meter and what voltages I should get.... Or what I should do to troubleshoot?
Thanks

Not sure, I looked as well. Did this just pop up, or were you working on something?
Have you cleaned your TPS? Will it hold a steady RPM any higher than idle? Try unplugging your TPS...I am not sure if that will tell you if it is the MAF or not, but surely someone on here has worked with a pre 96 Disco...
Don't try to clean your MAF. The SAGEMS are more robust than the Bosch, but it is still not a good idea. I am leaning towards a bad MAF, but more of just what I think, I can't give you a test to prove it other than unplugging your MAF, and if it is the same, then your MAF is bad. I think this will just kill the Motor..

Thanks for the reply....
I will try to clean the TPS....
Previously when I changed the Air Filter I cleaned the MAF with MAF Cleaner from CRC..... But the Erratic idle existed prior to cleaning and the stalling just started a week ago or over two weeks from when I cleaned the MAF.....
I am also when I take out the TPS to visually inspect it check the "TNozzle on the PCV Line"
I have only had this Rover since 1st week of October so I am going through all the lack of maintenance items.... Should I check my fuel filter seeing as how this guy never did anything...LOL....

Here is a guide for the OBD1 codes, hope it may help, http://www.fourfold.org/LR_FAQ/RR/FA...ult.Codes.html
As for your fuel filter, there is no real test for a fuel filter but cutting it open, so just change it. You will probably need to use penetrating oil to loosen the fittings.
