Default 1999 paarts on a 2002?

Found a cherry 1999 being parted out, and was wondering if the front bumper and facia that have the fog lights ect will fit my 2002 SD model. Will the front passengers window motor fit? New member and the forum has been a wealth of info. Doing my power steering fluid change this weekend. Thanks

Those parts should all inter-change thru the 2002, 2003 and new used a lot of different parts.

1999 DI or 1999 DII? Both models were made that year. If DII, then yes, all parts will fit on your DII. If it is a DI...no.

If it is a DII, I would ask for the transfer case so you can have a CDL (all you need is the linkage and shifter to make it work once it is installed.)

Also, one more thing...make sure you re-build your front driveshaft with greaseable u-joints and grease them every 5K miles or you will be buying an entire transmission from that cherry 1999!

Thanks Mike and mwinth...i will make sure to check the vin. I believe its a D1 as no series II emblem. Thanks for the drive shaft advice. I have downloaded the Rave manual, and just getting started. Have some experience with my 94 land cruiser. Always wanted a Discovery. Mine is at 117,000 and going though a full maintenance regime.

Hey texmbr...check this thread: https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=28599

The tell tale sign for me is the door handles (sticks out on a DII) and the rear lights (higher on the DII as well).

With that many miles, I would look into getting your head gaskets replaced...you do not want to lose coolant and cook the aluminum engine.

But...the absolutely first thing to do is replace the front u-joints (and centering ball kit) with greaseable u-joints. Then work on Mike's 60K service: https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=19776
