Honestly I'd call Simon at RTE and see what he has to say or what he could do for you in terms of springs. I will say my white one even on the 285s is lower than my wifes green one on 265. Green one has no aftermarket parts except the lift so it's substantially lighter than my white one.

Gotcha well the RTE springs on my 04 are very nice and they handle the weight from the ARB fine. In your case the spacer would just remove the sag so probably not ideal. D1 spring seats will get you a 1/2 inch gain as well vs D2 units.

You can do DIY sway bare disconnects pretty easily. Check out the link in my signature. I did a write up on it a few years ago.

Alex_M,

Where can I procure 3" MD springs? .Terrafirma has 2" HD springs that I presume when installed on a unmodified truck give 3". I further presume this is what is offered by Lucky 8 as 3" TF lift springs?

I think in theory, 2" springs will give you 2" higher than new factory standard springs. You may be in the ballpark if you mean that 2" springs will give you 3" higher than your sagged 20 year old springs.

Hey, so I think I'm going to purchase the RTE springs, brake lines, ABS lines, and 285/75r16 MTs. I just want your opinion, do I need radius arms and a pan hard bar right away? Tires and the springs around the holidays is already a lot for me, but I need to replace my tires since it's a safety issue. What about heavy duty axles/CVs, do I need it now or can I wait? I do have a front Tom Woods driveshaft. I'm hoping you have some insight since it sounds like you're running the RTE setup.

Thanks,
Jacob

RTE 3inch coils, and TF extended shocks. Rest is OEM minus extended SS brake lines. Zero issues and I wheel it more than I drive it on road (the 04) rest of my D2's are also 3inch lifts and I drive the hell out of em with zero issues.

Thanks. Simon told me it would be potentially dangerous since the steering geometry wouldn't be correct, I don't think he tried to pressure me at all, I just think he wanted to warn me. I'll probably go for what he recommended when I get the $ for it, but good to know I can just run the springs. I assume I can just use my OME shocks also.

Anytime you lift something the geometry is going to change (even with just a 1inch spacer vs stock) however I drive 80MPH in m D2's and I find the steering to be fine. Only time I ever had crappy steering is when I blew out the OEM tie rods after a weekend of off roading thru boulders. Replaced them and my steering was back to normal. I personally think 3inches of lift on a D2 = the sweet spot.

Castor def needs to be corrected and the radius arms from Simon are super beefy. However I think unless you are wheeling it super hard the full arms are a little overkill. Can get castor correcting bushings from the UK or Oz or make castor corrected plates as I think a member here had just done maybe a month or two ago which was clever.
