My daughter called from Colorado and explained her problem and I originally thought it to be our 3 southern friends visiting but the brake light is on and not the hill descent.

Brake light switch?

 

If it were the brake light switch she would not be getting it out of park and there would be no brake lights.

 

It could be either the hill descent lamp is blown or the brake fluid reservoir switch is either defective or stuck or you are out of brake fluid. Check the brake fluid and cap carefully.

Different combinations of lights often mean different faults.
