Default 2 inch lift and tires

So, I just fitted a winch and Sahara bumper, so I figured I might as well lift it too. I went with the terra firma 2 inch lift and now my tires look kind of silly. So,what is a good tire size to run? I do not want to trim anything or have any rubbing at all. Thanks for any help. By the way, I have the 18 inch hurricane wheels and will be sticking with those.

It is nearly cheaper to sell those 18's and put a good set of 16's with either a 245 or 265/75/16 tire on it.

Thanks for the quick response Mike. I know the 16 inch are better, but I like the 18 inch wheels. I was thinking of going with 255 70 18 in an A/T tread like toyo open country if I can find them.

Or maybe 265 70 18. Those seem to be more common.

I hear ya on liking the 18s more...how is the tread on the tires that are currently on the 18s? I went through this a couple of months ago...

Since my 18s had nearly 75% tread left on them i decided to keep the 18s with street tread for everyday driving and then i picked up a set of 16s (for $75 beans...which reminds me i need to buy DiscoMike a new rim! one of mine was bad in the set of 5 i got and mike gave me his...) and then i went and bought some Treadwright Backbone (285-75-16) tires to go on the 16s. That way i could get aggressive as i wanted with the off-road tires but not have to deal with the loss of mpg, gearing, road hum, etc during the week when im going back and forth to work...

of course its a pain to switch the tires back on the weekends i go riding but i get the best of both worlds...good street tire, good off-road tire...

Just a thought...

The tires on the 18s are nearly new. They are street tread and stock size. Not good with a lift. I'm in the used parts business, so I have plenty of wheels, 18 and 16. I just really like the looks of the 18s better and I think with the right tire, they can be good off road.

I think the comets look the best... but I'm going to stick with 16's I think. Tires are still a little cheaper.
