What's the details on the 2000 you are looking at? Whats wrong with it to begin with?

If nothing is wrong then just a general service...if the dash is bright and pretty when its running thats a differnt story.

I take offense to your '03 comment sir.....jk

Mine is an '00 and I haven't run across any unique issues. Like nychaze said, look at why you're getting such a good deal to start with. Depending on what could be wrong with it, it might not be worth the money or headache. Other than any big underlying problems, taking care of the front drive shaft and the rest of Mike's mx checklist is the place to start. If you can, I'd still get an independent pre-purchase inspection done just for the peace of mind. No matter what the current owner says, I want to know anything that could potentially cost me in the future.

haha, sorry nychaze...didnt mean to offend, ive just heard horror stories from friends with 03's that all have had major problems with their engines and they were all pretty similar problems..

the 00 disco has 120k miles on it and they are asking 3300, thats all the info ive got so far, im going to look at it tomorrow but from the pics it looks as clean as a whistle

Shady, Buy a Rover is like buying a boat, it is a deep hole in the water that requires lots of up front money to make right. These should not be considered a hobby vehicle unless you have a lot of money to spend, and yes I would never part with my 99 D2.

On my 2000 D2 , other than typical maintenance, and upgrades, I have only had to replace a few things. Had the Three Amigos, repaired for under $100. Passenger door lock actuator. There are a few things I have been putting off repairing, but will eventually, like an external slight head gasket leak on # 8 or intake manifold (but I plan to change head gaskets even if it is just an intake leak). Right rear high range speaker inoperable, and rear door subwoofers torn, but functional.

Fuel has been the biggest yearly expense since I have owned it.
