X2 on the tightening of the valve cover bolts. I recommend that you tighten the valve cover gaskets at every oil change interval. They have a tendency of loosening up over time and causing oil seepage at the gaskets.

x3 try tightening first, usually stops the leak immediately!

I would try tightening first but I don't know if you can get to all of the bolts withhout removing the upper intake. I just replaced mine when I did plugs and wires and it was not that hard. They get dry and "plasticy" and just don't seal anymore after a while.

I forgot to mention that you only have to tighten the outside bolts. The valve covers only leak on the outward side.

True, they will eventually wear out and stop sealing but most of the time you just have to re-tighten them a bit and they're fine. Also, DON'T remove the upper intake. You only have to re-tighten the four you can get to on the outsides, the inner ones don't see much oil, the lower ones are the ones that leak. Worth a try first before removing the plenum and all that crap. If you do want to replace them, wait until you're ready to do a full tune up with new plug wires, you need to remove the plenum to change the wires. (or you need a set of really tiny hands) I don't know how the heck anybody does them with the plenum in place, it only takes about 10 or 15 minutes to remove it and about the same amount of time to put it back on and torque it down. To change the wires without removing it takes about 5 1/2 hours or something like that from what I've heard. Not worth it if you ask me!
