Question 2000 Landrover Discovery II

This question is for Disco Mike if he is around! This is Jack! I really appreciate all that you post on here! You have been a very big help to me! I am the one you talked to on the phone from TN with the 2000 Landrover Crank Sensor switch problem! It fixed it! It has been running really good! Tonight (Nov 5, 2010) I got gas at a BP station and put 93 in it as always I like running the best in it! When I got have way home the service engine soon light came on! Do you have any suggestions?? I would really appreciate your intake on this one! Thanks

Take it to a local parts store and get the codes read, then get back to us with those numbers.

exactly, go to a parts store like oreillys or auto zone and have them read the codes, bring the 4 digit codes (not the workers explanation) back to us so we can help

I don't know about the rest of the country but the oreillys here stopped checking codes. They will sell you the code reader and you can bring it back like any other loaner tool. When I ask why the change the guy told me some store gave a guy the scan tool..he pulled the codes..it said he needed a O2 sensor..he bought one..it didn't fix his problem and he sued oreillys.

Lol, I worked for O'Reilly auto parts for about 7 years, and this is no surprise. I left before they started checking codes and worked in back at the wholesale counter, but while I was still there, "official" policy was changed to no longer install wiper blades, after an employee had left the wiper arms up after blade removal, and one of the arms snapped back onto the windshield, cracking it. Of course, select "qualified" employees could pretty much do anything in the parking lot to help a customer.
