2001 Disco Check engine light lost of power or speed
What did your mechanic do? Did he clear codes? Another thing it could be...would be the cats are getting plugged up...if you are seeing a sluggish response at highway speeds. But, you need to get the codes figured out first before doing anything else. Keep clearing them and then tackle whatever one comes back first or more often.

Any help would be great
Did your mechanic clear the codes? Some of those codes could be old ones and totally unrelated to your issue. If your mechanic had the plugs out to do a compression test, why didn't you have him throw new plugs in while he had them out?..and just finish a tune up while at it?
If l was your mechanic...l'd be asking a ton of questions...did this symptom come on all of a sudden or get worse over a long period of time? If it happen suddenly, did you get gas recently? Knowing the history of the issue and how it evolved helps. Without some sort of case history...we are all just throwing darts.

It's not an opinion, it's a very well known fact that LR V8's DO NOT do well with Bosch Platinum, X2/X4, or any Bosch Plug that has the tip of the electrode surrounded by the ceramic insulator. They will foul very quickly leaving you with misfires.
I think there is a Bosch Double Platinum/Iridium Plug that has the electrode sticking out like normal, but I still HIGHLY recommend NGK Platinum/Double Platinum/Iridium plugs or Autolite Platinum/Double Platinum/Iridium plugs. NGK's were even the OEM plug on the LR3/RRS.

^^^^ this is Best 4X4 opinion (Edit...suggestion). Me, l'm not sure what type of plug l used...so l really can't recommend one.

I would not bother with the cats until l figured out the codes. Like l said before, have someone clear the codes, drive it and see what ones come back...then repair those issues first. Did you try the injector cleaner that was recommended in post #10 by Gerry? You've got multiple misfire codes, could be bad/plugged injectors...or bad fuel.
You say the rover sat for a long period of time, have you ever driven it since getting it from your brother (and it ran good)...or did this all happen since you started messing with it (and it's never ran right from the get-go)?

Can’t beat NGK no matter what plug, I’ve personally used the Iridium IX. I’ve used the Autolite XP3924’s and had no issues as well. My 02 Kalahari is currently running a set of them (at the time there was a 2.50 off per plug coupon) and zero complaints.
I just wanted to Thank you again for all you guidance. I put the Autolite's in this weekend and cleaned the mass air flow. Cleared the codes. Took the old gurl around the block at top speed. No hesitation on startup full of power. Will go on the highway in a couple of days have to put the plates on the car. But you all Rule. Great Job again
