Default 2001 Rover startup ROUGH

Yesterday i was driving my rover. As i approached an upward turn, the rover hesitated with loss of power, corrected itself and all was fine. A few minutes later when i started up my rover the engine sounded awful. It then quickly corrected itself. I drove it for some distance. Turned it off and restarted. All was fine. I then drove the vehicle for 30 minutes and all seemed to be fine. Any ideas on what might have happened or what might be a DEVELOPING ISSUE?

First step for me would be to see if there were any stored or pending codes in the ECU which could give u a clue as to what the issue might be.

Could be fuel pump failing.
If around 150K or above - replace the fuel pump.

Or you will end up stranded.
