as long as you're not trying to keep up with ferrari's you'll get about 12-14 city, 17-20 highway. It's not great, but personally it's worth the sacrifice for the ability to put this truck anywhere you want it. It'll really do anything you want to off road.
HAH! I'm getting 12-14 city with my 97 BMW M3!

Not the M3's. Mine is an automatic also so even worse.
BMW's M cars are notorious for poor mileage.

hm. interesting... Well, aside from our terrible mileage on pavement, I'm under the impression that LRs get about 100 mpg whenever they're on dirt mud or rock. I swear I can drive 2 hours on highway and burn a whole tank, or drive a whole day on dirt and mud and come back between half and 3/4 of a tank.[sm=dontgetit.gif] but I don't care

The head gaskets need replacing because of the acid in the coolant. If the coolant has never been replaced then you're more than likely going to have them done. You should set aside $1K-$2K for repairs after purchase for things like that. Head gaskets and the three amigos are two of the most common and expensive repairs needed. I've fixed both in the first year of ownership ('01 w/ 88K miles right now). Look for DiscoMike's 60K service and do all of it. There's a lot you can do on your own before taking it to a shop for the other parts of the service if you want to save a little cash.

Hoping to take the Disco out for a drive on Friday.
Anything to listen or watch out for?
TIA!
