Default 2002 Land Rover Discovery

I need to sell this to buy an LR3. Tell me if the price is out of line.

2002 Land Rover 2, comes with Platinum Motorsports front winch bumper, Warn 8000 pound winch, and 30" LED light bar on the bumper, everything is less than a month old. Also has a Garvin Roof Rack with ladder and 40" light bar. Has a Pioneer flip out 7" screen with all bells and whistles. Truck currently overheats for reasons unknown to me. Has new water pump, radiator and hoses. I have some parts that will come with the truck. Rear bumper cover was removed. 3 amigos lights are on. $4500 or best offer with everything or $2000 for just the truck. There are over $3500 in just accessories on this truck. You can come drive it and kick the tires. Located in Mont Belvieu. 2818026491

I can send photos if you are interested

I would say your price is out of line. I'm with you on getting a LR3 and I can appreciate all you've added, but you can't expect to get much for a vehicle with engine problems - particularly Land Rovers.

What would be a decent price to sell it for. I guess I could sell it as a parts vehicle but the problem is just the cooling system. I can sell the rest of the accessories by themselves.

Just slap new head gaskets on it in the park lot.
Done.

We all read about you putting in head gaskets in a parking lot and we are all proud. I need to know what would be a decent selling price.

Problem being your overheating issue could be a simple fix or as extreme as a cracked block. As a buyer, you have to purchase as a worst case scenario and hope to get lucky.

I believe prices are higher on the westcoast where I am at. Stock with bumpers, lights, interior etc in very good condition the highest I would go would be 1k and that's if I really needed one. But in stock form you don't have a front bumper, so $800.

With the accessories I would consider 1500-2000.

You might get more by taking the accessories off and selling separately, at least they would sell quicker than the vehicle. Hope that helps.

abran is spot on.

My '99 was mint with records and 90k on the clock, with all engine work done with receipts at the Great Basin Rover shop.

I paid $5500, and that was a premium for Utah Rovers.

Most go well under $3k, ones with engine issues sell for peanuts.

Mods don't matter.

If you got the truck running without over-heating and without 3 amigos, you *may* fetch your $4500 price, but both you and I know that could cost a lot of money..

Honestly, it might be less of a headache to remove as many mods as possible, sell them on ebay, and trade your disco in on the LR3 from a dealer.

Would rather keep everything on there and maybe try to get $3,000 for it. Bumper, winch and LED light bar are just a month old. Garvin rack and LED lights are about a year old. If any members want any of the accessories I will sell the bumper, winch and light for $1200 and the rack and light for $800. Hope I can get $800 for the truck alone. If not then I will take it to the scrap yard.

Call the scrap yard before you start counting your money, Local scrapyard here would give you $300-$350, definitely better to sell to a Land Rover enthusiast.

Good luck.
