Seriously though... they've been NLA for ages, while the 1999-2002 tail lights are still widely available brand new. Ironically, the 2003-2004 tail lights are the ones that need to be replaced due to how dumpster their build quality is. What's up with this? LR just didn't make enough extra?

Where'd you find new ones? I'll literally pay whatever at this point.

 

Awhile back I bought new ones from AB.

 

Yeah I was looking all over including Europe. All sold out. Yet they make these gross altezza aftermarket taillights.

I managed to grab a new drivers for my 04 early last fall, maybe got the last one.

 

Just curious... can the 1999-2002 upper tail-lights be used on the 2003-2004 Discos? Or are we talking about a whole different mounting footprint and/or wiring connections?

 

Yes the earlier lights can go into an 03-04. Vs those Tuff Rox offerings the wiring wouldn't be that bad. Earlier 99-02 don't have the same grade of plastic and seem to last much much much longer.

 

The wiring is super simple, I just did the opposite swap. I know, I know! Why would I do that?! Can't help it, I know they suck, I just like the look better. Also raised the turn signal so I didn't need to make one into the bumper when I build one.

Anyway, it's as simple as matching colors on the wiring. I was surprised they kept the same wire colors, but sure enough they did.

I've got a 99-02 set with the plugs if anyone is interested.
