2003 Discovery died once, hot restart problem
I got tired of the troubles with my 99 Disco 1, so I bought a 2003 Discovery with 40K on the odometer. One week later, it died while driving on the expressway - all lights worked and the starter spun th engine easily, full tank of 93 octane gas, 92 degrees out. About 15 munutes later it started and ran perfectly. One week later, we drove the car for about 4 - 5 hours, 82 degrees out, shut it off and came back 15 minutes later. The starter spun the motor easily again, but no fire. A guy listened for fuel pump noise while I was trying to start it, but didn't hear anything. Opened the hood, waited about 15 minutes and it started again. Next day, same problem. Took it to the dealer who has tried unsuccessfully to duplicate the problem, so they can't fix anything. Does anyone have any insight on this? I am heartbroken. I can't be the only 2003 owner with this problem. Does anyone know the number for the District Service Manager for Chicago? I love the car except for the fact that I can't drive it.

Were there no check engine lights?
I have never heard my fuel pump, they only run for a couple of seconds when you first turn the key, then they shut off till the engine starts.
Could be the pump, I would also look at the coil packs for failing. Do you have fuel pressure, how about spark?
