I have a similar problem
I hope this is allowed. I have a similar problem with my 03 Discovery. It starts and runs but doesn't want to go. When I put it in drive the rear driveshaft spins but doesn't seem to be putting any power to the rear wheels. Is the rear diff blown or is there another possibility? Thanks for any help as I am a noob when it comes to working on these rigs.

If the truck is in drive, and the rear driveshaft is turning, but the truck won't move, then the ring and pinion and/or spider gears in the differential are broken.
Fortunately, the entire center section of the differential unbolts and lifts out.
You must remove the rear wheels, and then pull out the axles.
You can buy a used differential and put it back together.
It's not a bad job.
