Default 2004 coolant leak causing oil consumption?

I recently discovered a coolant leak at the throttle body heater plate, which is a common thing. But it had been leaking (slowly) for a while without me noticing. I found out about the leak at a gas station, at which time it was also observed that my oil level was dangerously low. So I had them put some more oil in, limped it home and deleted the throttle body heater plate, which isn't necessary in my warm climate.

I then topped up the coolant and bled the system. Could the oil burn have been a result of the car running hot when it was low on coolant? Or is that likely an independent issue?

Check the passenger side oil separator, pull the hose off the valve cover my bet is it is clogged which will lead to much higher oil consumption. A bunch of carb cleaner down there, takes a 5 to 10 shots will clear it. You need to keep going with the carb cleaner until it drains down just by gravity.
