@whowa004 - There are a couple extremely difficult sections in Lockhart basin. I was able to get buy them with a 3 inch lift and 33’s not aired down. You also need a spotter or you would never get through in time. We went as far as we could until we found a fence 2/3 of the way through. I assume it was there because of trail damage so we did not proceed. Some great views though abs challenging terrain.
We left the next day through grand staircase for coyote gulch. Then headed on to our campsite at alstrom point overlooking lake Powell. We drove for about 12 hours total before we made it to camp. Some really cool river and ice wheeling and night driving.
Next day (today) we headed to sand hollow park in Hurricane Utah. This was a humbling experience. We couldn’t seem to find the right combination to climb any of the sand dunes without getting stuck. It didn’t help that we had mud tires that dug in and we’re 6000 lbs. Both helped us sink faster. Aired down to 25 to see if that would help but we just ended up bottoming out and shredding the rear tires. 🤬
So ending the trip on a sour note in Hurricane but we did do a lot of challenging wheeling that most others never get a chance to do in a lifetime.
Repairs/Damage
Alternator - 12.8 to 13.3 volts to the new battery. Had it tested at oreillys and they said it passed so I will ride home with it.
Rear tire sidewalls shredded. Checking them out at discount tire.
Blown axle seal - will deal with this when I get back. Just going to top the diff off.
Cruise control Is flaky. It is on but doesn’t engage until the engine has been running awhile.
diff armor is damaged - that’s what it’s there for but I need to tighten it up
muffler heat shield - weld broken so it is rattling
inner fender well seal and plastic damaged
So nothing major that won’t hold us up from heading back tomorrow

Very nice! Glad everything has worked out for you aside from the tires. I know you spent a ton of time and money prepping for this trip. Wish we could have connected but I'm on the fence about ripping out to moab next week for a long weekend as it might be my only chance this year to make it out. Lockhart was pretty high on my list and I'm fine spotting and having the wife man the wheel in any spots that might require it. Plenty to do if we decide against it or turn around. The white disco has done most trails in moab with minimal issues (still haven't run moab rim yet but that's top of the list with the right group...and obviously not running pritchett canyon on 33s lol).
Obviously, you haven't been watching Yellowstone...cause Rip would disagree...and what better way to send the evening by digging your own grave...lol.
Haha well this trail never comes close to any private property. Lots of trails out here on forest or BLM land have fences/gates and you just pass through and leave it how you found it.
