2004 Discovery cargo length
This has been asked before, but I don't see any answers on the forum...can anyone tell me what the cargo length is of a 2004 Discovery with the seats folded down? I've got a big synthesizer case that's 62" long and I'm hoping it doesn't crush my dream of owning a land rover...
Also, wikipedia says 53", but that seems very short.

Gilder -- can one rest stuff on top of the folded-up seats? If it's 54 inches to the hinge, then isn't there an extra couple of feet till the back of the driver's seat? (I hope I've understood you correctly) Thanks in advance!
The load floor is 54 inches from the tailgate to the back seat hinges, meaning the point where the back seats fold forward and rest against the back of the front seats. Moving the passenger seat forward does not change the dimension of the load floor, it merely allows the seat to pivot forward slightly. There is no way to get a 62 inch case in there without having it rest on top of the seats, which would be dangerous. If you want a Rover that can carry this, look for one of the old LWB models.
