Question 2004 discovery. leaking transmission fluid

Hi there!! We just got an 04 that was in bad shape..... I replace the rear diff bcz the differential pin went and put a hole on the back diff cover.. So i took the rover for a spin and notice a mayor leak between the transfer and transmission so I decide to replace those 2 seal... I drop the transfer box and replace those two seals TRANSFER AND TRANSMISSION for NEW seals!!! I put everything back and take the rover for a spin one more time, and the leak still there, not as before much less.... So im writing you guys to see if theres any other thing things i need to check beside those seals???? This is an 04 disco with 105k

Go power scrub the area and get under there with a flash light, might want to look for a crack.
On the seals you replaced, did you find one damaged which would be causing the leak?

Hi Disco mike!! I did replace that seal between the trasfer and auto transmission... The old seal turn into hard plastic so I was 100% sure that i solve the probem. But nope, still leak, not as much as before... The wired things is that she only leak on Reverse, once I select anothe gear the leaking stop......... I been thinking that maybe that new seal was defected or something. I'm going to drop the transfer boxs this week but first i wanna drive the rover around to see if the seal sit right in place or who knows LOL... Like u said, maybe theres a crack where the seal is. I did power wash before taking the whole thing a part and yes the leak is coming from there =/ go figure lol and theres no way to damage that specific seal during the install u know...

It turn out to be the transmission out put shaft that was bad and also the transfer box input had internal bearings damage... The 04 is back on the road!!!! No leaks at all...
