Default 2004 Discovery Lug Nuts

2004 Discovery Lug Nuts
I have just purchased a set of 20 lug nuts for my 2004 Discovery. After rotating the tires they already rounded off. Is there a way to replace them with solid steel ones? Are there special sockets/wrenches to use on them; if so what are the sizes?

You MUST use a 6 point socket.
I am not sure of the size.
Yes you can buy solid steel ones.

6 point 27mm or 6 point 1-1/16", deep sockets are best. Autozone will have them cheapest though you can get a set of deep sockets at HF for really cheap and they are good quality. On a side note I don't get it what did you use to do that vise grips or oversized socket and an impact? Supposedly you can replace the metal covers on the lug nuts. Expensive mistake though.

Yes 6 point 27mm sockets should be used.

are you sure they're rounded?

i could see someone thinking that they are rounded when they're not.

You can go to British Parts of Utah and buy a replacement cover for the damaged caps. Hand torques the lug nuts, by hand to 103 foot pound and trey not to use a air wrench.
