The original fold down armrests on my Alpaca interior '04 HSE are really worn out. I see covers available on ebay for P38s that look the same but don't mention a disco fit at all. Has anyone been able to re-skin an armrest with a P38 armrest cover? Or does everyone just take them to an upholstery shop?

i did not know there was any difference between the arm rest used on Disco and P38 models? Care to elaborate on the difference? They look about the same to me.

 

The P38 has a plastic square shape finisher over it at the nut position. The D2 just has a round nut cap. Not the same

 

They might be exactly the same. I'm hoping they are. That's the question I meant to ask.

 

Abran, do you think the skin from a p38 may fit the disco arm rest frame? Those are only $60/ pr. Disco 2 skins are unavailable.

 

They might. But if you look on eBay at the photos of the p38 armrests, they have a dogleg where the plasic piece I mentioned covers.

I looked on eBay and the covers do look like they would fit.

But, look at the actual P38 armrest and you will see its a different shape.

 

My bet is you'll find they are two very different animals.
