235/85 or 245/75R16 on 16x8 DII wheels?
You wanted to up grade to the 24 spline HD axles anyway didnt you?
Do you know the weight of the different size tires? If the "85" tire weighs one pound more than the "75" tire you should be ok I would think.

The weight difference between MT/R tires is 1 pound. The difference between the Grabber AT2 tires and MT/R tires is about 10 pounds. I decided 245/75R16 tires are the best choice and also the safest (in terms of fitting).
HD axles are in the budget somewhere behind new driveshafts and OME coils/shocks.

Pete

Was just re-reading the thread and realized that I was confused and my post didn't help at all. I thought you were asking if a 16x8 was wide enough for those tires, not if it was too wide. Sorry guys.
I noticed the TJ Rubicon's have the same tires I'm looking for. Now all I need to do is find a set on Craigslist for cheap. I am interested in the Cooper Discoverer STT tires also. They receive good reviews and look fairly aggressive.

Pete

I do my tire research on tirerack.com but buy locally. With shipping and mounting it is cheaper to buy locally, and they will special order tires for you if they do not carry them in stock.
