If you're not gonna address the axle gearing, strenght and brakes, I suggest you consider the 265/70. It is about the same diameter as a 245/75, and as wide as a 265/75.

That way you get the lesser affect on gearing and the same effect on the fatness lookwise.

 

for what reason jycsalas? i remember you like the skinny look, for which the 235/85 would be a nice choice.

245-75-16 = 9.64" wide x 30.5" Tall
235-85-16 = 9.25" wide x 31.7" Tall
265-70-16 = 10.43" wide x 30.6" Tall

I've got the 2" RTE lift w/OME shocks and running 265/75/16 Hankook M/T. No problems with rubbing on the trails, but I haven't disconnected my sway bars.

 

Early pictures of the then newly installed OME 2inch lift and General grabbers AT2 in 265/70r16. To give you an Idea of the clearance and fatness. I did the lift before the tires, so couldn't tell you about running this size before the lift.

 

My friend has 265/70 16 on a D2 with no lift, it seems to be fine tbh.

Im currently still deciding myself whether to go 265 or 245. Im not really bothered about the "look", but dont want to buy the 245's and regret not getting the bigger ones (more diff clearance) at a later date.

 

What do you think of the Hankook RT 03 's your running ? looking at those for my second set and they are very well priced over here compared to "other" brands.

 

isn't it funny how much internal struggle can be had over ONE HALF AN INCH of diff clearance. I just looked at a rule to remind myself the difference here. it's not like we're talking pebbles versus boulders!

Well I would like to have taller tires that are tucked nicely under the rig and not sticking out passed the fenders like gilders. There's NOTHING wrong with that set-up, its just a personal pref.

I want tires as wide as what I have stock but taller which is very close to 245 So maybe 245.. 265 is the widest I'll go and that is still an option

235/85 is nice too but I need 7 inch rims so i need to take into consideration dumping $700+ for steel rims just for looks... I dont know about that.

 

i might bite the bullet and buy some 265/70s before the lift. based on everyone running the 245/75s, I bet they will fit stock.

seems they'd be a nice intermediate size, without losing power.
