Default 285/75/16's What exactly does it take?

I have some brand new tires I just put on my 4runner. Well the 4runner is most likely sold as I plan on getting a DISCOVERY.. GOD I HOPE I DON'T REGRET THIS,

Anyways as I just bought these 285/75/16 Mud Terrain BFG I would like to keep them for my DISCOVERY

Should I keep them or should I really sell them? Only other tire I would be interested in is a 255/85/16 M/T. Which are just a bit thinner.

What exactly will it take to run with these?
Lift [HOW MUCH]
Spacers [HOW MUCH]
Brake Line Extension?
Other Extensions?
Fender trimming?

I bet a 3" OME and trimming will do it.

No need for extensions with the OME.

Email lucky8 for prices.

33's will tax your diff though and power and gas mileage will be hurt.

A trade for 245/75 would be easier for you.

They have a handy-dandy tire fitment guide over at Discoweb that states that size tire requires a "bit more" lift than the OME 2". I am sure I have broken a sacrament by posting to that forum, but that particular page seems quite useful.

I will be fitting the same size tire, and I have seen it done without any apparent trimming. Should work...but heed the warning about gears. They will need to be swapped before any significant wheeling (so I have heard).

We just mounted that size on my buddys Disco I with nothing other than some fender trimming. I'll try to get a photo for you to show you how we did it.
I know the rover gods are going to say that it was butchery and retarded but it honestly looks factory the way that we did it. All we did was run a line using electrical tape just within the first curve along the fenders , cut along the edge closest to the tire and then taped off about 2" of the fender lip and painted it with spray on bedliner as to simulate a flare and then cover up the rough edge with rubber edge guard. It actually looks great. He's got 50% tread BFG M/Ts on it and they only rub the front radius arms when in a sharp turn. 255/85 16s would prolly help that.

Im running 33 12.50 on my D1 with 4" lift and wheel spacers. Havent had to trim any thing yet. But if your going bigger than a 3" lift your gonna need driveshafts brake hoses and radius/trailing arms front and back if you want to keep it more streetable.
