I have something similar but had a local shop do the work while my D2 was there for a bunch of work. Backup camera is so nice to have.

They didn't have to expand the opening for your double DIN to fit?! What model? That could help a lot of guys.

I'm looking at adding a 2Din stereo head. First I have to acquire the '03/'04 Disco 2 dash console since there is more room due to not having the crappy fold out cup holders.
My 04 has the slide out cup holders in the dash

Mine is a Kenwood DDX9903S

I don't believe they needed to expand that opening. I pulled the trim piece back and don't see any obvious signs of expansion. They did a bunch of work to relocate the heating controls. I don't have in dash cup holders.

Neat! This site lists those dimension as 6" x 3" x 3" which would certainly fit in the stock opening:

I have a cargo rack on my D2. The camera is mounted on that. Gives a great downward view. Wire comes in via an existing entry point at the rear center of the roof. I toyed with the idea of mounting in the spare wheel. Would use a replacement center cap for the spare. Cut out a hole and mount the camera. It's a neat idea but didn't provide as useful of view for me. Also would add additional connection to the camera wires.

I'm also running a front camera. That's centered and on the front bumper (have an ARB installed). Super handy for seeing tight places and parking.

Nice! How do you switch from front to rear camera?
