Default 2inch Spacer Lift:

On my 99 D2 I honestly can't stand it's low ride height (even when the SLS is aired up fully). I looked online for the spacers to install under the OEM coil spring plates and found nothing but 150-200.00 stuff on ebay. For that price I'd rather just save up for a real TF lift with shocks/springs. I'd like to keep the SLS, but my RR air bag leaks down some overnight, and the spacers to allow you to keep the SLS with a 2inch lift are insanely priced. So I'm probably going to covert over to the coil springs on my 03 parts truck which haven't sagged bad at all.

I was at a junk yard the other day which had a wrecked P38 Range Rover. It had been converted to coils with Arnott Industries stuff. I noticed the coil spring kit on that P38 also had aluminum spacers. I asked the junk yard for a price since I'd have to pull em off myself and they wanted $250.00 since they priced the Arnott coil conversion kit vs just the spacers and used Ebay as a price guide... (I will not be going back there that's for sure!).

So I looked on Arnott Industries website and you can get the spacers in 1inch for 49.95 or the 2inch for 69.95. From what I could tell the bolts on the P38 spring plate look to be identical to the D2 lower spring plate. I ordered a set today and I'm curious to see if they'll work for 69.95 vs the 150-200.00 spacers on Ebay. If it works it certainly is a much cheaper alternative to the Ebay wonders!

I bought some of those. The ones I received worked perfect on the front (or the back, I can't recall) but I had to do a lot of cutting and drilling (on the pucks) to make them work on the opposite end. It worked. I think I paid about the same (couple of years ago) and had a giant pile of aluminum shavings and cuttings for my efforts .

The rear "should be" PNP while the front set will require some work because the shock sits down into it some. I've got an idea what I need to do so I'll modify them and go from there.

I did all of the mods with a drill press and a cutoff wheel.

Take pics!

I think Toddco has everything one would need as far as spacers.

Yep that's just like what I found on Ebay for 175.00. I'll modify the front set and call it a day for 69.00. Appreciate the link though.

Wish I would have seen this thread. I have 2 inch spacers sitting in a box. Not doing anything with.

I have an '04 with the SLS. I wanted to keep the SLS so I bought the Terra Firma 2" spacer blocks. I thought about building them but decided to spend the $200 (stupid expensive for what they are). What they didn't tell me when I ordered them was the rear shocks would come to the end of their when the weight came off the rear end causing a loud bang. I ordered the Terra Firma +2 shocks ($250) to solve that problem and what the didn't tell me, after I explained what was happening, was the front shocks would bottom out under compression. Soooo, I ordered the 2" longer Terra Firma front springs ($200) and gave the front spacer blocks away. If anyone wants to keep their SLS and add a 2" lift, they need: rear spacer blocks, four +2 shocks and new front springs or four spacer blocks and rear +2 shocks. I suggest the new front spring route if you travel off road. Mine does great and I am really happy with the off road performance and look of the truck.

Yep on the SLS, I found some 45.00 each new replacement air springs, but I'm not spending 200.00 on the SLS 2inch lift spacers. That is just ridiculous... A complete TF 2inch Medium lift with shocks is 498.00 to my door vs 200.00 in spacers for the SLS, then the shocks.

My 99 already has extended OME shocks on it, but since I have the RR air bag acting up. I'd rather just convert to coils and be done with it. SLS/EAS is great, but on our older vehicles eventually you just end up replacing parts time and time again and the pump/valve block is not cheap.

I've been stuck 4hr from home once when the EAS system failed and let me tell you 4hr at 55mph on the bump stops IS NOT something I wish on anyone!! I nearly ruined my back tires, I wore thru two inner fender splash guards, and our backs were beyond destroyed.

I'm just going to try and modify the front spacers to work around the shocks, and see how it goes. If I mess up it was only 35.00 worth of front spacers.

Okay I got the Arnott Spacers dropped off at my house today. It consist of 8 1inch aluminum blocks, and 8 new extended bolts. It looks like all I have to do is drill out two of them with a hole saw blade to allow the shock to sit down in it, and after that it's bolt on ready.

I'll pick up a hole saw blade that will still leave the bolt holes with enough metal around them to be stong, but still allow the shock to sit down inside the upper spacer. I'll piddle with drilling out those upper spacers during the week, and probably attack the entire job over the weekend.

I'll also drill a 3/8 to 1/2inch hole into the lower front spacers to allow water to drain vs sit and collect.
