Default 3" lift necessary changes

What would need to be adjusted or replaced on a '97 Discovery that has been lifted 3". Please be as specific as possible and don't be afraid to be **** about the details (like brake lines or bushings). I want to know what is going to be involved before I jump in.

clearance for bigger rubber is a major reason and I don't want to be trimming the fenders. Also, I figure if I am going to lift it I might as well make it worthwhile. I have read some discussion about driveshaft replacements etc but want to know everything involved. mainly I see the three inch lift as the first step to creating a moderately modified discovery: not too extreme but more capable than stock

You may need to change to longer front/rear drive shafts. Someone else can chime in. I have a DII so I'm not sure.

3" lifts for Discovery's is A lot of lift. Most people get by with 2" lifts because they are a lot cheaper and you do not need to change as many suspension parts for it to work.

How big of tires do you plan of running?

this might not apply to my particular vehicle but will this lift require me to get different driveshafts? What about the "rotoflex"?

I'm not familiar with the tire sizing but an equivalent 32x11.5-33x12.5. somewhere around there.

A 3" lift will 100% definitely require new driveshafts for front and rear in a Disco I or II. Lots more stuff to, brake lines, etc...

I have a 3 inch suspension and 2 inch body lift and only needed to replace the front driveshaft. 98 Disco. I have 33x12.50x15 all terrains, even with all that lift they still scrub a little on the fenders when the goin gets tough.

mrcrptguy,
really? I had heard from a few people with 3 inch suspension and no body lift that they needed to get new stuff... Does it look like anything else is getting too close for comfort? I want to go with a similar lift, but I'm worried about flexing out a wheel too far and breaking something or some crap like that.
